In the wee hours of the morning of Sunday, October 14, The sport of Roofball entered a new era.



At exactly 2 a.m. PT, Dan O'Reilly appeared on screens all over Beaverton as he announced the start of the 2-hour broadcast of the 2007 Roofball U.S. Open. 



TVC-TV will air the U.S. Open broadcast every Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday through the end of 2007 on cable channel 23 in Beaverton.

The rules are easy : you have to stay on your feet, you can run, jump but if you fall ... you lose ! Another important rule : the participant may not use any body part other than the feet and it's forbidden to touch the opponent, and if he makes it, there is one judge who would decide who could be guilty.

All started in 1994. I was living in Bretteville-sur-Odon, near Caen, France. There was a little park attractions called Festyland.

Don't imagine the big and ambitious attractions like in Disneyland, but some very simple but really funny games for kids. Among them, there was one where you had to run into a big whirling barrel.
